Above  – Dated crazy paving and rabbit stunted roses are replaced with softer gravel, Alchemilla mollis, and Nepeta x  faassenii. Although these two are decidious perennials, they are cut back hard end July , just as they are beginning to look scruffy and will produce a new crop of foliage and flowers ( in the case of the Nepeta) with in a few weeks.this growth will remain through most of the winter until cut back hard again in March. – below

Below – lighting should play a vital part in any garden. This walled town garden had mature espalier apples which look gorgeous all year round now they are uplit.

A dull space with classic 70s crazy paving is transformed into an intimate space suitable for evening drinks. Reclaimed York paving was cut carefully into a circle. Green Oak posts support ropes on to which rambling roses will be trained to create a scented spot.
