About

Welcome !

This small piece of cyberspace is dedicated to all the things I love – planting, growing, tending my garden and other gardens I have the privilege to work in or visit.

As a garden designer, I have the wonderful opportunity to really get to the heart of a garden, to understand how it really works.

A garden is never really finished, so I am constantly on the lookout for inspiration and find it in many different places – books, websites, interiors, cities and natural landscapes – and I hope to share these with you here.

I am also a keen photographer and have recently wasted many hours on  Instagram, so you will see many of my photos on this blog. !

    Dearest Ems,
I’ve just been given your website by Pop pop and I am in awe – you are so inspiring. I’m following all your wonderful photographs and hope you might say yes to me painting a few of them for an upcoming exhibition in October? Would LOVE to see you and show you our farm in Dorset so you can see what an unfinished garden we are have great fun creating. Please do come on your next visit down to your parents. I am going to try and organise childcare for Ian’s funeral, so I might see you there?
Lots of love to everyone and keep in touch.

Hi bex – thank you so much ! Of course you can use any of my photos – if you want a higher resolution version just let me know. I’d love to see your farm – how many animals do you have now ?! Sadly won’t be at the funeral as we’re up in Scotland for a few weeks. But planning on coming down to Devon next month so I’ll let you know ! Love to all. Ex

I was wondering if you sell your dahlia tubers? I am interested in Weston Buccaneer and Hllcrest Cheryl. Or can you tell me where you bought them?
Thanks. I live in the US

Hi lynnie. I’m afraid I don’t sell dahlia tubers. And I’m not familiar with any American suppliers. I buy most of mine from http://www.sarahraven.com but I’m not sure if they ship overseas. Sorry to not be more helpful.
