Very pleased with how these planters turned out !

I was struggling it find some large, substantial metal pots that didn’t shriek of ‘shopping centre’ or ‘trendy restaurant’ when I realised that the answer was so simple – galvanised dustbins !

At a very reasonable £29.95 from my local Countrywide Stores, they were the answer to my problem !
Having many lots of holes in the base to ensure good drainage, I filled the bottoms of them with broken pots and polystyrene planters just so that I wouldn’t have to fill the whole thing with compost.

Then I planted them up with an assortment of small shrubs and perennials

~ Verbena bonariensis
~Fuchsia magellanica
~Convolvulus cneorum
~Campanula lactiflora
~Heuchera Purple Palace
~Cistus purpurea
